would this man be the next obama?

Piyush "Bobby" Jindal is the new governor of Louisiana. People tout him as the Republican Party's best bet against Obama in the 2012 elections. How about Sarah Palin? Hmmmm be my guest.

Achievements
  • Currently the youngest governor in the US
  • First Indian American to be a governor
  • 2004 Congressman of the 1st District Louisiana
  • Secretary of the Department of Health of Louisiana turning the Medicare System from bankruptcy with a $400 million deficit into three years of surpluses totaling $220 million.

Pretty impressive against a first time senator who won the Presidency.

Meralco Service Sucks!

To set things straight the incident is around 5-8 houses away from us so there is no immediate threat in our part. What is scary is the fact that only a few people have seen the incident and there are a lot of children living near where the freaking transformer exploded.

Incident: Transformer near our house sparked then the spark crawled via the electric cables into another transformer. We reported it at 7:00pm about 5 minutes after the incident. We got our reference number.

730-followed up
800-followed up
830-followed up
930-shit
10-nada
1130-followed up again.

1230am Up to this moment there is still no shadow of meralco servicemen near our area.

With the increasing price of electricity and the unexplainable charges you are charging us we, as customers deserve some A1 satisfaction. On a scale of 1-10 ill give you nothing. What the f**k is wrong with the management you monopolize the energy industry and we get no happiness from you and you repay us with poor service and an overpriced bill.We have not yet started with astronomic deposits that are refundable after a decade or so. This is not the first time that we have experienced with this we have already experienced a worse scenario and they came 2 hours which is really an agony.

Maybe Meralco should change their logo from this:

To this:

How To: Stop Being Bill Gates' Pawn For World Domination (Part 1.)

Well basically this is about setting up your pc to run on totally free software. Buying original software is hard on the wallet so why not go for freewares!!
What you will need:
1. A PC
2. Net Access(preferably broadband)
3. Spare time

Step 1. Buy A Mac!!(Just Kidding!!) Think about your OS if your not really into complex software that eat too much resources why not go Linux. Linux is pretty much free depending on the distro. Why not go for Ubuntu. Go ubuntu.com and download the latest build.

Ubuntu offers a hybrid interface of Mac and Windows but sometimes compels you to learn some commands. Actually that is a hurdle anymore because there are tons of tutorials found in the web or if your too lazy to google go to ubuntu's community and feel free to post a query they will be happy to help.

Installation of Ubuntu is almost fool proof just be careful what build to download because they have different versions for different processors but basically it does not eat that much hardware. Adding software is easy too just go to synaptic package manager and choose what software you need. As I have said there is a large percentage of the population that has migrated to Linux just join their respective forums and feel free to ask questions and read the wiki for the distro.

Ubuntu can also send cd's to you just sign up to canonical and they will be happy to send a copy to you free of charge.
